Pledged is a habit and task tracking app that uses optional financial stakes and social consequences to help you follow through. You set a commitment, attach rules, and review what happens if a threshold is reached. It is informed by behavioral economics research on loss aversion and pre-commitment, without promising a particular outcome.
Most habit apps rely on streaks, reminders, and gamification. Pledged lets you choose real financial or social consequences in advance, then provides a defined 72-hour review if your selected failure threshold is reached.
No. It's about creating genuine accountability. Pledged also includes a leeway system, an appeal process, and buffer time after deadlines. Eligibility, limits, and review timing are shown in the product and can change as the system evolves; the penalty system is only one part of a broader, transparent commitment design.
Pledged is for ages 13 and older. Users aged 13-17 may subscribe and use non-financial accountability features in V1, but cannot create financial or hybrid consequences. Users under 13 cannot continue after the age declaration. Guardian-enabled financial consequences are planned for a later version.
Two types: Habits (recurring daily commitments over 15-90 days, on specific days of the week) and Tasks (one-time commitments with a single hard deadline). Adults may choose financial, social, or hybrid consequences. Users aged 13-17 may use social accountability only in V1.
When you create a commitment, you choose a total-miss threshold, a consecutive-miss threshold, or both. Reaching a threshold opens a 72-hour review. You may appeal an eligible triggering miss or use available leeway; otherwise the exact authorized financial consequence is charged or the selected social action becomes due.
Once a commitment is live, its accepted accountability rules cannot be casually weakened or erased. The record remains visible through completion or resolution. This does not block subscription management, account deletion, security controls, or a legitimate appeal path.
No. A consequence applies only to the commitment that triggered it. Other commitments keep their original schedules, and appeals, subscription management, safety features, and account deletion remain available.
Yes. You have 30 days and up to 3 attempts to appeal an eligible missed day. Easy-mode appeals may be processed automatically, while other appeals may require review. There is no guaranteed review time; the app shows the current state and any applicable deadline.
Under the current Easy Mode rules, leeway can be used without a usage cap during the first 50 days. After that period, no more than 5 total uses are available, including uses made during those first 50 days. Leeway waives the unresolved consequence but keeps the failed commitment in history.
An optional message you compose and preview before activating a social consequence. Pledged does not post it automatically. Public exposure can create privacy, safety, professional, and emotional risks, so never include sensitive information, another person's data, or a message chosen under pressure.
Monthly ($9.99), Six Month ($34.99), Annual ($54.99), and Lifetime ($149.99) options are planned. Store prices are localized and control the final amount. Eligible subscriptions may include a 7-day trial; Lifetime has no trial.

Go to Settings → Payments & Subscription → Cancel Auto-Renewal. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. We make it easy — no hidden steps, no phone calls required.
Yes. Your subscription fee is for app access. Penalty fees are the amounts you set on your own commitments — they're only charged if you fail to meet your deadlines. These are processed separately through Stripe.

Pledged is designed around authenticated access, server-authoritative operations, row-level database restrictions, encrypted provider connections, and payment-provider tokenization rather than storing full card numbers. No service can promise absolute security; the Privacy Policy describes the current providers and controls.
The supported mobile experience is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Platform availability and store eligibility are shown before installation; cross-device sync depends on the signed-in account and an internet connection.
Deadlines use an authoritative stored time and a displayed local timezone. Review the timezone shown before activation and after travel or daylight-saving changes; do not assume a deadline silently moved as intended.
An internet connection is required for authoritative creation, verification, appeals, and commitment management. A locally displayed state should not be treated as final until it has synchronized successfully.
