Terms of Service
Effective and last updated: August 8, 2026
1. Agreement and operator
These Terms form an agreement between you and Isaac Andrey Vinluan Ulanday, an individual in Malta operating the service as Pledged (“Pledged”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Correspondence address: Oakscourt, Triq id-Dolmen, Marsaskala, Malta.
By creating an account, accepting these Terms, purchasing access, or using Pledged, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Age, eligibility, and authority
- Pledged is for users aged 13 or older. Users under 13 may not create or use an account.
- You must declare your age range accurately. The V1 declaration is self-reported, not identity verification, and may be locked to protect age-based rules.
- Users aged 13-17 may subscribe and use non-financial accountability features, but may not create financial or hybrid consequences in V1.
- You must be at least 18 and legally able to authorize the payment method before using a financial or hybrid consequence.
- A store subscription does not authorize a financial consequence. Possession of another person's card or account does not prove their consent.
Guardian-enabled financial consequences for users aged 13-17 are not available in V1. If an under-13 purchase was made before the age declaration, stop using the service and contact support and the applicable app store.
3. What Pledged provides
Pledged is an accountability tool for habits and tasks. You choose schedules, deadlines, verification, failure thresholds, and available consequences before activation. Pledged does not guarantee a particular personal, health, financial, educational, or professional result.
Pledged is not medical, mental-health, legal, tax, or financial advice and is not an emergency service.
4. Accounts and security
- Provide accurate registration and age information and keep it current.
- Do not select an older age range to bypass a restriction.
- Protect your credentials and devices, and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
- Do not impersonate another person or use another person's payment method without valid authorization.
5. Commitments, deadlines, and verification
Review every material setting before activation. Safety-critical terms such as deadlines, thresholds, and consequences may be locked against weakening or deletion after activation. Limited descriptive details may remain editable, and account deletion remains available.
Stored server time and the commitment timezone control deadlines. Notifications are a convenience and do not automatically extend a deadline.
6. Optional financial consequences
A financial consequence is a fixed amount and currency selected and authorized for one commitment. It is not an entry fee, investment, lottery, contest, wager, pooled stake, prize, or opportunity to win money.
If the selected failure threshold is reached, a consequence case opens and the displayed review period begins, currently 72 hours. Eligible leeway or a timely appeal may be available. If the case remains unresolved at finality, the exact authorized amount may be charged through Stripe. Bank authentication may still be required.
Financial and hybrid consequences are available only to users who declare they are 18 or older and may also be limited by payment-provider approval and local law.
7. Social accountability
A social consequence records an accountability action selected by you. Pledged does not automatically publish to an external social network. Do not create or share unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, deceptive, exploitative, dangerous, or privacy-invasive content.
8. Subscriptions and lifetime access
Available plans may include monthly, six-month, annual, and non-renewing lifetime access through Apple or Google. The store purchase sheet controls the localized price, taxes, trial eligibility, billing period, and renewal terms. Subscriptions renew until canceled through the applicable store. Deleting Pledged does not itself cancel a subscription.
Store billing and optional Stripe accountability consequences are separate. Neither purchases nor unlocks the other.
9. Appeals, leeway, refunds, and corrections
A timely appeal can pause the remaining consequence-review time while it is decided. Leeway can waive an unresolved consequence without rewriting the historical miss. Store refunds are administered by Apple or Google. Contact support promptly about a duplicate, unauthorized, technically invalid, or incorrect consequence charge.
Nothing in these Terms removes refund, cancellation, chargeback, or consumer-remedy rights that cannot legally be waived.
10. Acceptable use and safety
Do not use Pledged for illegal activity, fraud, harassment, exploitation, infringement, security abuse, self-harm, violence, starvation, unsafe exercise, essential medication, emergency care, or conduct that could endanger anyone. Do not place passwords, card details, or unnecessary sensitive information in free-text fields.
11. Account deletion
You may permanently delete your account through Account Settings or use the public account deletion page. Store subscriptions must be canceled separately. Limited payment, tax, fraud, dispute, or legal records may be retained only where necessary and as described in the Privacy Notice.
12. Availability, changes, and suspension
We may maintain, secure, improve, discontinue, or change features for legitimate operational, legal, safety, or product reasons. Where practicable, we will provide reasonable notice of material changes that adversely affect paid access. We may proportionately restrict an account for fraud, abuse, security risk, legal requirements, or a material breach.
13. Warranties and liability
Pledged is provided with reasonable care and skill, but internet, device, store, bank, and third-party services can fail or be delayed. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss caused by configuration choices, missed commitments, device or network failures, or third-party outages outside our reasonable control.
Nothing excludes liability or mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights concerning fraud, negligence, personal injury, conformity, refunds, or legally required care and skill.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Maltese law. If you are a consumer, mandatory protections and any right to bring proceedings in your country of residence remain unaffected. Contact support first so we can try to resolve the issue, without limiting access to a competent court, regulator, app store, payment provider, or consumer body.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect product, provider, security, or legal changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice or renewed acceptance where required.
